Gen. John J. Pershing

(1860-1948)

Commonly called "Blackjack", Gen. Pershing was the commander of U.S. forces in Europe during W.W. I. 

This 5.5" x 8.5" letter, dated February 23, 1931, is typed on Pershing's personal stationary and signed by him.

Also included is the envelope, with stamp, postmarked Feb.24,1931 in Washington, DC.

Except for the neat removal of the envelope's flap and a fold in the letter, both items are in fine condition.
