This fine original pencil portrait is inscribed “In Appreciation - / Charlie Chaplin / 1933” in a blank area below the portrait.
It is also signed and dated “9.3.33” by the highly skilled portrait artist H. E. Muller.
This is one of ten 'signed' beautifully executed Muller portraits of Hollywood legends being offered in this website. (See all 10 signed portraits)
Eight (of the 10) are 8.5” x 11” and two are slightly smaller. In matching frames they would make an impressive display in a business, office or home.
Although famous as a great silent movie comic, Chaplin was also an outstanding director and composer. He teamed up with fellow stars Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. to form the United Artists Film Studio.
There are many books and a movie devoted to chronicling (or criticizing) Chaplin’s highly successful professional and the tribulations of his personal life. No more need be said here.
The paper size is 8.5” x 11”. There is a small (3/4”) closed edge tear in a blank margin area and has some darkening from pencil smudges, but it is in otherwise in very good condition.
