82. Moran-Mack

George Moran

(1881-1949)

Charles Mack

(1887-1934)

This 'blackface' comedy team, known as "Willie & Amos" had some success in vaudville but flopped miserably in the few films they appeared in.

The movie "Anybody's War"(1930), for example, was loaded with trite slapstick and used offensive stereotypical material that was way beyond the limits of acceptability - even for those days.

Willie & Amos represented a segment of our entertainment history; however this segment is much better represented by Amos & Andy (radio), Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor and other stars of stage and screen.

It's unknown which of the two-man comedy team boldly printed the team autograph on this album page.

Nicely matted for an 11"x 14" frame below  a still from "Anybody's War".

Note: The full outline of the mat is not displayed.

Price: $45 (as matted).
